Being offered is an extremely nice 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Convertible. This vehicle is absolutely stunning, the bright Fathom blue exterior is complimented with the very popular white SS stripes. This Car is an example of a very rare and in demand 1970 LS-6 454 Convertible and has had a careful restoration completed in 2005 to a very high standard and has obviously been pampered since!! According to previous owner and included documentation from an appraiser this vehicle was restored to original specs in terms of color, finishes, and options. These options include the SS package, factory tach and gauges, bucket seats and center console, tilt wheel, tinted glass, steel cowl induction hood, power steering, power disc brakes, LS6 450hp 454 with M22 Muncie Rock Crusher transmission, F41 suspension, and AM/FM Radio. Exterior Highlights:
The exterior of the car is flat out stunning with excellent bright factory code correct 28 fathom blue paint with White SS striping, the paint has an extremly high gloss with no drips, runs, or areas of poor preparation observed. The vehicle has a new white vinyl convertible top that is excellent. The Polyglas GT Goodyear tires and Chrome SS wheels are in great condition and add to the cars great look. Both doors open, close, and latch with ease and have excellent shut lines. The vehicle is equipped with the very popular optional cowl hood that adds to the sporty look of this vehicle. This vehicles chromed accents including the front and rear chrome bumper are in great shape and have no damage, denting or pitting. The trunk area of this car has been painted with correct paint to flow with the rest of the cars natural look and there is a spare tire and wheel that is the same style of those on the car itself. Along with the paint all glass is crack and scratch-free and the windshield is in excellent condition with no wiper scuffing or stone chips. Every aspect of the exterior of this car is excellent as can be seen in the pictures but this one is even more spectacular in person. Interior Highlights:
The interior of the car is in excellent shape like the rest of the car. The front pearl vinlyl bucket seats of this car are in excellent condition with no rips tears or splits. The center console is excellent and houses the awesome 4-Speed shifter. The back of this car features a bench style back seat which is also in excellent condition. The carpet, headliner, door panels, and dash are all in excellent shape with a very original looking appearance, no cracks on the dash and excellent bright gauges. And finally like everything else about the interior of this car the steering wheel is the correct SS style 3 spoke and has no damage. Overall, as the pictures indicate, the interior of this car is excellent and show ready.
Mechanical Highlights:
Mechanically this Chevelle stands out from the crowd with the LS6 454 producing 450 Horsepower managed through the 4-Speed Muncie M22 Rock Crusher transmission, this car starts, runs, drives, and stops as it should, and is a blast to drive. The car retains its matching numbers engine with most of its original correctly dated components including cylinder heads, intake, distributor, and carburetor. All of these components were rebuilt to original LS6 specs. The 3963512 block carries the original VIN stamping and an engine code of T0328CRV, with a casting date of L 19 9 (December 19, 1969). The car also retains it’s correct date coded 3:31, 12 bolt rear end with posi-traction. The M22 transmission also carries the correct date code. The vehicle is equipped with a 12 bolt rear end with posi-traction. This is one of those vehicle you get in and know you are in something quality, the entire car is solid. The engine compartment is very clean and well sorted. This vehicle is equipped with power steering and powerdisc brakes.
