MARYLAND — The Maryland Lottery has unveiled five new scratch-off games set to hit retailers on Monday, July 22. These games offer varied themes and the opportunity for players to win substantial prizes, including joining the millionaire’s club.
The new scratch-off lineup features “Lucky 13,” a game that challenges the notion of 13 as an unlucky number. Priced at $1, the game allows players to win up to $1,313 by matching numbers or revealing a “13” symbol. It boasts 22 top prizes.
“Joker’s Wild,” priced at $5, plays into the allure of the Joker card. Players can win up to $50,000 by matching numbers or uncovering a “Joker” or “WILD” symbol for increased winnings. This game offers eight $50,000 top prizes and includes a $50 bonus spot.
For bingo enthusiasts, “Gold Bar Bingo” returns with its 5th edition. This $5 scratch-off replicates the classic bingo experience, complete with a FAST $50 spot and bonus numbers, offering players eight chances to win a $50,000 top prize.
“Money Rush” is a $10 game where players can win up to $100,000. This game features a multitude of multipliers and two $100 bonus spots, enhancing the chances of winning one of the nine top prizes.
Finally, the “Millionaire’s Club” offers a $20 game with the potential for players to win up to $1 million. This game includes multipliers and 30 chances per ticket to match winning numbers, presenting five opportunities to claim a $1 million prize.
Maryland Lottery continues to provide diverse and exciting gaming options for its players, encouraging them to test their luck with these new offerings starting July 22.
- Randol Contreras Arrested for Brutal Attack on Young Woman in Queen
QUEENS, NY—District Attorney Melinda Katz has charged Randol Contreras with attempted murder following a violent incident in the subway. According to DA Katz, Contreras allegedly launched an unprovoked attack on a young woman, stabbing her multiple times in the torso and slashing her face.
The victim suffered severe injuries including a punctured liver and lung.
Contreras was arraigned late yesterday evening and was remanded into custody. The attack occurred on July 28 near Jamaica Avenue and the Van Wyck Expressway.
In addition to attempted murder, Contreras faces charges of first-degree assault, two counts of attempted robbery, and criminal possession of a weapon.
The DA emphasized the commitment of her office to vigorously prosecute those who perpetrate violence within the mass transit system, which serves millions of New Yorkers. Randol Contreras is scheduled to appear in court again on Friday, August 2.
- Jackson Police Department Celebrates Dunkin Donuts Grand Reopening
JACKSON, NJ - The Jackson Police Department celebrated community engagement at the grand re-opening of the Dunkin' Donuts on Manhattan Street Plaza.
It is an industry near and dear to police officers nationwide.
Key community figures, including Mayor Michael Reina and Council President Jennifer Kuhn attended the event.
Officers took a hands-on approach during the event, serving customers and working alongside Dunkin' staff at the counter and drive-thru. This initiative was part of a broader effort to strengthen community relations and interaction between the police force and Jackson residents.
The store's management team, including owner Sudhir Hegde, District Manager Ram Haq, Multi Unit Leader Natale Valenza, and Store Manager Jessica Oreibi, hosted the officers and community leaders, creating a lively and interactive atmosphere. The police department expressed their gratitude for being included in this significant occasion, noting that the officers had a "blast" and humorously hinted that they might have indulged in some of the store's famed donuts.

- Philadelphia Man Held for Shooting and Killing Woman Near Atlantic City Boardwalk
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ—A Philadelphia man, Gregg Page, 34, faces charges of murder and attempted murder following an early morning shooting on August 1, 2024, that left one woman dead and another severely injured in Atlantic City, NJ. The incident, involving two female victims, occurred near Main and the Boardwalk at approximately 4:41 a.m.
The deceased, identified as Carley Elbert, 32, from Sewell, was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head and pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, Kamille Stewart, 29, from Pleasantville, sustained multiple wounds and was transported to AtlantiCare Medical Center for treatment.
In connection with the shooting, two other individuals from Philadelphia, Ryan Schenck, 30, and Ramir Schenck, 27—brothers—were charged with hindering apprehension.
The three suspects were apprehended in Philadelphia on the day of the incident and are currently held pending extradition to New Jersey.
The ongoing investigation is a collaborative effort involving the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office's Major Crimes Unit, the Atlantic City Police Department, the Philadelphia Police Department, and the FBI’s Philadelphia Office.
