True Temper Elevate 95 Vs KBS Max 80 Shaft Comparison Overview
Today, we will be going over the key differences between the True Temper Elevate 95 and the KBS Max 80 shafts.
True Temper Elevate 95 Shaft Overview
“The True Temper Elevate 95 comes in regular (93g) and stiff (94g) flex.”
This shaft produced a lot of spin for me. As a result, I was able to affect a lot of different shot shapes.
It has an active feel with the kick point down near the tip. Compared to the KBS Max 80 though, the True Temper Elevate 95 was less accurate.
When I needed to thread the needle and get down a narrow fairway, my dispersion wasn’t as tight as I needed.
KBS Max 80
“This is a combination shaft meaning it can be regular, stiff or extra stiff depending on how you trim it.”
This is a 110g shaft so it gives a little more stability than the Elevate 95. It kept my launch lower and my spin lower as well.
Less experienced players won’t be able to work the ball as deftly with this shaft compared to the Elevate 95; but it stands up better to heavier loads.
“The True Temper Elevate 95 is definitely for slower swingers. The KBS Max 80 is good for 90+ MPH swingers who want a stabler feel.”
True Temper Elevate 95 First Impressions
Our initial thought was that it felt even smoother than DG shafts but provided the same accuracy.

You would have to be pretty fool-hearty to attempt drives with a shaft like the True Temper Elevate 95.
KBS Max 85 Steel First Impressions
We were taken aback at how much the signature KBS smoothness came through in a shaft that weighs just 85g.
Key Features & Performance
The weight of this shaft will allow slow swingers to gain more distance.
Still, the KBS Max 85 Steel feels stable so long as you don’t mis-hit by a mile.
KBS Max 85 Steel Irons Review
Don’t pair this shaft with huge iron heads – you will lose control. The KBS Max 85 Steel works well with moderate footprint GI irons.

The KBS Max 85 Steel shaft works well with weak-lofted wedges as it naturally wants to launch pretty high.
